FAQ & Support

Questions about Dawnling? Email us anytime at chuck@chuck.support — we usually reply within a day.

Who can see my baby's site?

Only people you share the passwords with. Your site is not indexed by search engines and is not publicly listed anywhere. There are two passwords: the admin password (for you — lets you post and edit everything) and the viewer password (for family and friends — read-only access).

Can Dawnling staff read my posts or photos?

No. Your posts, journal entries, vitals, and uploaded photos live in a dedicated database that belongs to your site. Dawnling staff cannot read your content — we only see metadata like when your account was created.

How do I delete my site?

Go to your site's admin panel, open Settings, scroll to the Danger Zone at the bottom, and follow the confirmation steps. Deletion is permanent and immediate — all posts, photos, vitals, and milestones are removed and cannot be recovered. Your site address is released and becomes available for someone else to register, so if you want to hold onto the address, don't delete your site.

How do I change the admin or viewer password?

In your admin panel, go to Settings and scroll to the Change Passwords section. You'll need to enter your current admin password to make changes. Both passwords must be at least 8 characters and must differ from each other.

What happens to my photos if I delete my site?

All uploaded photos are permanently deleted along with everything else when you delete your site. There is no way to recover them after deletion, so make sure to save any photos you want to keep before deleting.

Can I change my site name (address)?

Not currently — your site address is set when you create the site and can't be changed. If you need a different address, you'd need to create a new site. Reach out to us at chuck@chuck.support if you need help with this.

Is there a cost?

Dawnling is free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future, but the core site — posts, vitals, milestones, and photos — will remain free.
